TYPE OF SCHOOL
CPIA 1 Trieste is a public school for adults.
COSTS OF A STANDARD ITALIAN LANGUAGE COURSE
The total cost is only 20 euros, for 100 hours; there’s usually, every school year, one or more courses with 8 hours for week (intensive), but mostly are of 4/5 hours/week in two lessons: 2 / 3 hours, or 3 / 2, tipically monday/wednesday or tuesday/thursday.
TIMETABLE
Courses are made from 9 am to 9 pm; it is possible to indicate the preferred time slot and when the school has all the requests (the limit is 15 october), teachers form the groups. Courses start at the end of october / beginning of november, and end in may with a final test attesting the reached level.
Special courses may be activated also during the year, but it’s not guaranteed.
EVENING COURSES
If there are enough requests (12 is the minimum) we usually have no problem to open courses also in the slot 19-21. We have had always evening courses in these last 3 years (your requests could be useful to fix the groups, if you fill the form in time)
For people working, another good solution is slot 9-11 (it’s only twice for week, anyway)
FINAL TEST
To make the final test, frequency is required at 70% because for the school the main goal is to improve speaking and listenig abilities in groups not too tiny.
INSCRIPTIONS
We suggest, if you (or others) want be enrolled, to bring compiled modules within 15 september, so it’ll be easier for us to fix courses in the time slots you prefer. Forms can be downloaded from the dedicated page.
SITES OF THE LESSONS
Lessons are held in via dell’Istria 45 or Largo Pestalozzi 1 (almost in front); there is bus number 10 going from via dell’Istria to Piazza Goldoni and viceversa.
LEVELS
You can put your choice (A1 for very beginners, A2 for people speaking a little) but it really doesn’t matter very much: before starting the course, that means after 15 september you will be called by phone to fix an appointment for a first, brief interview, so teachers will fix with you the level. If, during the year, they will think that the level is too easy for you, then they will propose to change to a higher one. Anyway, it’s enough only one form; you will have time to speak directly with teachers.
PAYMENT
Payment can’t be done by cash.
The payment can be done in a post office, it doesn’t matter which one. Payment is also possible using e-banking. You only need the receipt, and data in the form are needed to know where the payment is directed.
All levels are official and level A2 is the level required for a EU Long Term Residence Permit of residence in Italy; all levels are quoted and we give a certificate.
